Vietnam!

We are pleased to announce that we have started our consultancy project in Vietnam. Over the next months we are going to study in depth Vietnamese aquaculture shrimp and tra catfish traceability in the An Giang and the Ben Tre provinces. It is our goal to add these provinces to the traceability community by designing a simple, yet effective traceability system for them. Of course this a real challenge where much of the shrimp production actually comes from very small farms (roughly 500,000-600,000 of them!). We are currently meeting relevant people in the ministries in Hanoi and move on Wednesday to the field.

Dear Mr. Heiner Lehr! Firstly, Welcome to my country. I'm a software engineer at VietNam and i'm glad to hear this information from your website. 2 years ago, TraceTracker built a representative office at HCM city, Viet Nam. However, implement a traceability system in VietNam is not an easily task. Most of farms at Mekong Delta is small and medium. And almost farmers are not familiar with computer or high technology devices. From my ming,I think you can aproach by two ways: - With farmer: using pen and paper with templated form for get tracing information OR provide them an easily to use software with Vietnamese UI. - With processing factory: using traceability software. Regards, Phuong,Lam
